Challenges for the State

Many South Australians continue to believe that our water problems are temporary; predominantly caused by a lack of rainfall and excessive demand from the eastern states.

WaterCare encourages greater awareness of the long-term nature of our water problems and the capacity of South Australians to help alleviate them.
South Australia faces some major long-term water challenges, namely:

• Our current use of water is unsustainable
• Our current use of water is inefficient
• Our contribution to stormwater pollution is inflicting damage to local waterways.
