Level 3 Water Restrictions more >>

Sustainability

Given existing supplies of water, South Australia’s current level of demand for water is unsustainable. We need to improve supply and manage demand to ensure future generations continue to have access to clean, fresh water.

If our current level of demand is not managed it will result in significant long-term environmental damage, substantial loss of economic production, and reduced quality of life for South Australians due to severe water restrictions.

Our water problems will not be fixed by a good rainfall or negotiating for more water to flow down the Murray into South Australia. We all need to contribute to look after our precious water resources.
