Programs
Waterwatch
Waterwatch is a water quality monitoring and catchment education
program that provides schools and community groups with an
opportunity to make a difference to their local creek, river,
dam or wetland. Get outdoors and actively involved in monitoring
and protecting these remarkable environments. Check out the Waterwatch website
for additional education activities and curriculum resources
to help you teach about water.
Coast Care
The Coastcare
Program provides
opportunities for governments, community, business and interest
groups to become actively involved in on ground works to protect
and manage our coastal and marine environments. Coastcare volunteers
identify local environmental problems and work together to achieve
practical solutions.
River Murray Urban Users
The River
Murray Urban Users aim
to raise awareness in schools and in the wider community, about
the importance of the Murray-Darling Basin and River Murray, and
encourage action to improve the health the river system. The website
has a variety of educational
resources and fact sheets that can be used when teaching about
River Murray issues.
Our Patch/Catchment Care
Natural Resources Management Boards in the metropolitan area
offer a hands-on program that sees schools and the community
groups undertaking projects and activities designed to raise
awareness and understanding about the importance of catchment
health. Some projects involve adopting a patch of a nearby creek
or river and revegetating the land with local native plant species.
