How to use the site
Because everything in the environment is interconnected, it is important to take a holistic approach to water and biodiversity education, rather than teaching about specific topics in isolation. To assist you to structure your teaching program, this resource sorts the topics into four themes which are important for teaching about water, catchments and biodiversity. These themes are:
Adopting a 'whole of school' approach to WaterCare education
A whole of school approach to water and catchment education typically involves classes or groups of students participating in any number of Watercare activities over time. Ideally, your school will develop a program for students at every level and within each learning area. A whole of school program will assist you to develop specific learning outcomes for the various age groups and learning abilities.
