Theme 4: Taking Action


Following are some Broad Learning Outcomes and Activities which
relate to the five topics listed on the menu, and covered by
this Theme.

Learning Outcomes

Students will:

  • feel empowered to participate in creating healthy catchments by engaging in activities that address land, water and biodiversity problems
  • develop an increasing understanding of the complexity of water and environmental management and the impact of all human activity on water and catchments
  • be empowered to make lifestyle choices that will help maintain and improve water quality, quantity and biodiversity.

Learning Activities

Students will:

  • participate in a range of activities involved in improving water quality, water conservation and protecting and enhancing biodiversity at school, at home and within their community.
  • understand what the various sectors of society e.g. government, industry, community are doing to help protect and restore water, catchments and biodiversity.
