Early, Primary and Middle Years
Activities

These activities are organised into Early, Primary and Middle Years Bands.

At the beginning of each Band is a table showing the Learning Areas (Science, Mathematics and Society and Environment). Each Learning Area is presented with the Key Ideas that relate directly to the Our Patch/Catchment Care sustainability outcomes in the Resource package.

Each band has three sections that relate to the first three Sustainability Outcomes; Understanding Catchments, Understanding Ecosystems and Human Impacts. These are the three Sustainability Outcomes that have practical applications in the field and in the classroom. The fourth sustainability outcome, Taking Action is represented throughout this whole section as its purpose is to demonstrate actions that can be taken. The fifth Sustainability Outcome, Sustainable Development, is merged throughout Understanding Catchments, Understanding Ecosystems and Human Impacts as well. All of the activities undertaken with this program are part of sustainable education and the sustainable development process.

Remember:

Many of these activities can be linked to other activities in the other Learning Areas. There are opportunities in English to communicate ideas powerfully, Design and Technology to design and build things for the environment and the Arts and Music for presenting ideas powerfully.
